Nestled in a mountain cleft was the Great Heartwood Tree, the oldest tree in the world and keeper of the Heart of the World. While the Heart of the World beat within the Great Heartwood Tree, it nourished the earth, pumping the world’s precious lifeblood through the tree’s roots and exhaling fresh air in the sighs of its leaves. The earth and all its creatures lived in plenty, but someone wanted more.

Weaving dark magic, an evil sorceress sundered the Great Heartwood Tree and stole the Heart of the World so that she might remake the earth in her own image. From every green forest, crystal lake, and windy moutaintop, chaos grew and destruction spread. The sorceress and her minions fled to the far corners of the earth to build their empire of darkness while the rest of the world crumbled.

Draco, the last in an ancient line of guardians, heard the groaning of the earth. With the world falling apart around him, he set off in pursuit of the sorceress to restore the Heart of the World before the earth was torn to pieces.
